The Five F’s
The other night I went to bed at 10:30, and at 1:30 my eyes popped wide open. I had that,”Oh no!” feeling inside of me–no more sleep tonight. So, I laid in bed and prayed until 3:30; then, I went downstairs, sat on the couch, and picked up a pen and a piece of paper. I got five words instantly and they all started with the letter F. I knew this was a vital and important message for the church! Here are the five F’s–
Functioning–to do, execute, to function in your place. Ephesians 4:16 “each part is working properly.”
Faithful–loyal, dependable, constant-not fickle. 1Corinthians 4:2 “stewards are expected to show themselves faithful.”
Fanatical–extremely enthusiastic Romans 12:11 “on fire with the Spirit, serving the Lord.”
Fruitful–producing in abundance-not barren. John 15:8 “Father is glorified by your bearing abundant fruit.”
Fulfilled–that peaceful state of knowing you’re accomplishing what you were made for. 1Timothy 6:6 “Godliness is indeed great gain when accompanied by
As I pondered the progression of these five F’s some things became very obvious to me. Each individual in the Body of Christ is vital and needs to be Functioning in their God assigned place. As they stay Faithful to Function and Fulfill their ministry to the Body, God pours His oil of anointing upon them. When you are covered with the anointing, you catch fire–when the fire flows in your life, it causes you to be very Fanatical, intensely enthusiastic, and you become contagious when around others! Now, you’re Functioning in the Body with unction on your Function and that is extremely effective! God’s grace flows through you enabling you to be very Faithful and Father is glorified as you continue to be a Fruitful branch on the Jesus Vine. The end result is that you become a very Fulfilled and vital member of the Body of Christ.
Here are some obvious conclusions–That feeling of,”I don’t feel like I’m a part of the Body” is forever gone; negated by the Five F’s that are operating in your life. If we all knew how dependent each part is upon the others, there would be no unattached, independent members in the Body. This would effectively eliminate the orphan spirit, that restless syndrome that has attached itself to so many in the Church. The enemy then loses his strategy that has hurt us, making us an uncoordinated, dysfunctional Body. We then become a well-oiled, fitly framed, flowing together family of Father God!
The Five F’s–functioning faithfully, fanactically becoming fruitful and fulfilled–all to the Father’s glory and delight!
